Ulsan City Participates in World's Largest US Marine Technology Expo... Operating 'Ulsan Pavilion' in Houston

Ulsan City will participate in a world-class U.S. maritime technology expo and operate the Ulsan Pavilion.

Ulsan City announced that, together with the Ulsan branch of the Korea International Trade Association, it will participate in the "2023 U.S. Houston Offshore Technology Conference (OTC 2023)" held in the United States from May 1 to 4.

This is the second consecutive year that Ulsan City is participating in the expo, setting up and operating the "Ulsan Pavilion" for corporate export consultations.

Last year, five companies participated, achieving consultation amounts of approximately $35,955,000, with high consultation performance and satisfaction.

This year, although initially planning to recruit about six participating companies, the number was expanded to 10 companies, including Daehwa Engineering Service Co., Ltd., due to a high number of applicants.

Participating companies will receive support for booth rental fees, equipment costs, transportation costs for exhibits, interpretation fees, and one-way airfare for company representatives.

This expo, attended by major global companies and institutions in the offshore energy industry such as oil and gas, is the largest specialized expo for offshore structure equipment worldwide.

This year, the expo is expected to attract participants from 39 countries, over 1,000 companies and institutions, and approximately 24,000 visitors.

An official from Ulsan City stated, "We are actively promoting customized export strategies such as dispatching trade delegations and market development teams to help small and medium-sized enterprises in Ulsan, which face difficulties in overseas market expansion due to changes in the trade environment, to pioneer new export markets."

Last year, Ulsan City and the Ulsan branch of the Korea International Trade Association operated the Ulsan Pavilion at four overseas exhibitions and expos, supporting the participation of 22 local SMEs.

This year, to enable more local companies to develop overseas market channels, support will be provided for about 30 companies to participate in five overseas exhibitions and expos.
