Gyeonggi Province has finalized the selection of 95 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the province that have growth potential as strong small businesses and will invest 4.3 billion KRW this year to provide full-scale support.
On the 28th, the province held an online discussion meeting for the selected companies to share project operation standards, important support programs, and conduct special lectures, while also gathering feedback from the companies, the province announced on the 29th.
This year, the province selected a total of 95 companies, including 51 global strong small businesses that are export-driven excellent companies and 44 star companies recognized for technological innovation. The province will support these companies with up to 76 million KRW per company, covering up to 70% of the project costs.
On the same day, a special lecture was held on the theme of "Prevention of Industrial Technology Leakage in SMEs" to address issues such as the outflow of advanced industry technologies and personnel in semiconductors, mergers and acquisitions by foreign companies, and the recruitment of key personnel leading to technology theft.
Previously, last year, the province signed a business agreement with five organizations including the National Intelligence Service branch and the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency to prevent the overseas leakage of industrial technology from SMEs. The special lecture was arranged as a follow-up measure to this business agreement.
