A man in his 20s who committed bizarre acts of abuse, such as removing the wings of a fly and forcing a junior soldier to watch it for two hours during his service in the Marine Corps, was sentenced to a fine.
On the 28th, Judge Kim Ji-young of the Incheon District Court Criminal Division 8 announced that A (22), who was indicted on charges of abuse of power and insult, was sentenced to a fine of 7 million won. Earlier, A was indicted on charges of abusing B (22), a junior soldier, at the Marine Corps 1st Division barracks and other locations in June 2021 during his military service.

In addition, A forced B to dance for 10 minutes and punched him 10 times. He was also charged with insulting B in front of officers by saying, "You have never had sexual intercourse even once by the age of 22."
Judge Kim pointed out, "The defendant committed abuse against a relatively weaker junior soldier, damaging a healthy military culture," adding, "The case is serious, the nature of the crime is bad, and the defendant has not been forgiven by the victim." However, he explained the sentencing by considering that "the defendant admitted his wrongdoing and is a first-time offender with no prior criminal record."
