Boseong to Host 'Jeollanam-do Excellent Bonsai Exhibition'

Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that the "8th Jeollanam-do Excellent Bonsai Exhibition" will be held from April 29 to May 7 at the lawn square of the Korea Tea Culture Park.

The 8th Jeollanam-do Excellent Bonsai Exhibition is hosted by the Jeonnam Branch of the Korea Bonsai Association and sponsored by Jeollanam-do and Boseong-gun. This event will be held concurrently with the "11th Boseong World Tea Expo."

Since this exhibition is held on an outdoor stage, about 120 works including bonsai, chumul, and bonsai pots, mainly large-sized pieces, will be displayed.

The Jeollanam-do Excellent Bonsai Exhibition is held annually to discover outstanding local bonsai and promote the excellence of Jeonnam bonsai.

Kim Cheol-woo, the governor of Boseong-gun, said, "Bonsai is a sophisticated hobby enjoyed worldwide, a natural object that contains the ups and downs of life and the ecosystem of mountains and fields in a small pot, and at the same time, an art piece." He added, "I am grateful to everyone who submitted bonsai cultivated with long hours of effort and time."

Meanwhile, Boseong-gun will hold the "11th Boseong World Tea Expo" from April 29 to May 7. Various festivals such as the Boseong Dahyang Grand Festival, Seopyeonje Boseong Sound Festival, nationwide sports competitions (yacht, ssireum, marathon), Ilimsan Azalea Festival, and Boseong Residents' Day will be held simultaneously, providing tourists with plenty of attractions.
