Four members of a family were found dead in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do. The prime suspect is the second son, Mr. A (43), who was found dead after drowning in a reservoir that morning.
According to the Jeollabuk-do Police Agency on the 28th, at around 5:51 a.m., a man was found dead at an elementary school playground in Deokjin-gu, Jeonju. The man had stab wounds all over his body.
After receiving a report from a school official, the police who arrived at the scene analyzed closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and believe that Mr. A ran over the deceased man with a car and then stabbed him to death. The deceased man was Mr. A’s older brother, Mr. B (45).
About two hours after the report, the police found Mr. A’s vehicle near a nearby reservoir. Mr. A’s body was also found drowned in the water and was recovered onto land. The police believe Mr. A threw himself into the reservoir after committing the crime.

Additionally, the police discovered the brothers’ father (70) and a woman (63) dead together in an apartment near the elementary school that day. Both were found collapsed in the living room with stab wounds on their bodies.
The apartment where the bodies were found was known to be the residence of the deceased older brother Mr. B and their father, while Mr. A lived separately. The police believe the woman found dead in the apartment was the father’s cohabitant.
Since Mr. A was found dead after drowning in the reservoir, the case is expected to be closed with a "no prosecution" disposition. "No prosecution" is a decision made by prosecutors in cases of semi-public offenses when the victim does not wish to press charges or when the suspect has died.
However, the police plan to continue investigating the motive behind Mr. A’s killing. To determine the exact cause of death, the police will conduct autopsies on all the bodies in cooperation with the National Forensic Service.
