Imsil-gun Launches 'SNS Photo Certification Event' to Boost Tourism

Imsil County in Jeonbuk announced on the 28th that it will hold the 2023 Imsil Tourism SNS Photo Certification Event to revitalize online promotion of Imsil tourism.

Reflecting the increased interest in local travel to small towns after the pandemic and the tourism trend of sharing travel information through personal SNS, the county plans to actively promote online tourism publicity led by the private sector.

Tourists visiting Imsil can participate in the event by posting certification photos taken at tourist sites on their personal SNS with hashtags (#ImsilTravel, ImsilTourism, etc.) and then applying through the event page (Naver Form).

Each month, the county will select outstanding posts and notify the winners individually via their personal SNS, awarding prizes of the winner’s choice from Imsil cheese portion gift sets, Imsil cheese sticks, Imsil cheese pork cutlets, rice-made Imsil cheese balls, or 20,000 KRW worth of Imsil Love Gift Certificates.

This event is intended for tourists visiting from outside the county to promote Imsil tourism, so residents with an address in the county are not eligible to participate. Further details about the event can be found on the county’s official website.

Additionally, the county is conducting various tourism events to achieve the goal of attracting ten million tourists to Imsil.

They are actively promoting train tourism, including operating the “Enjoyable Imsil Trip by Rental Car” program, a train-linked tourism product in collaboration with the Jeonbuk Headquarters of Korea Railroad Corporation.

This product is a free travel package consisting of round-trip train tickets from Jeonju Station and a rental car, with discounts of 10-60% on round-trip train fares and 30-47% on rental car fees.

After arriving at Jeonju Station, tourists can freely travel to major tourist attractions in Imsil County using the rental car.

County Governor Shim Min said, “As travel begins with a single SNS photo and the destination and route of the trip are decided, personal SNS currently leads tourism trends. Now, as the season for traveling arrives, I hope tourists visiting Imsil enjoy their trips, take photos, and leave with a bundle of gifts prepared by Imsil.”
