A fire broke out at a farm in Incheon, resulting in the deaths of a couple in their 70s.

According to the Incheon Fire Headquarters on the 28th, the fire occurred at 12:02 PM at a vinyl greenhouse on a farm in Gyulhyeon-dong, Gyeyang-gu, Incheon. The fire claimed the lives of two people in their 70s, Mr. A and Mrs. B, and completely destroyed 13 vinyl greenhouses.

Mr. A and Mrs. B were a married couple who had been living in the vinyl greenhouse for over 10 years without any other residence.

Immediately after the fire, thick black smoke rose dozens of meters high, and the fire department received 176 related emergency calls.

Gyeyang-gu notified residents of the fire through safety text messages. Gyeyang Middle School near the farm evacuated 490 students to the playground and then sent them all home.

The fire department deployed 113 firefighters and 46 pieces of equipment, including pump trucks, and extinguished the major flames within 56 minutes. The police and fire authorities plan to investigate the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage once the remaining embers are fully extinguished.

A police official stated, "We are conducting additional searches for victims using equipment," and added, "We will investigate the cause of death of the couple, Mr. A and Mrs. B."
