The Suncheon Bay International Garden Expo Organizing Committee (Chairman Noh Kwan-gyu, Mayor of Suncheon) is enriching the 2023 Suncheon Bay International Garden Expo with the ‘National Day’ events, where visitors can experience the cultures of various countries around the world.
‘National Day’ is an event planned to allow enjoyment of the traditional and distinctive cultures of participating countries during the expo period and to promote artistic exchange activities between Suncheon and the participating countries.
Following the successful ‘Netherlands Day’ event, the first National Day of the expo held on the 15th, the organizing committee will hold ‘Tanzania Day’ and ‘Czech Day’ events on the 29th and 30th.
If you want to experience Tanzanian traditional culture, head to the National Garden Mudflat Performance Hall at 11 a.m. on the 29th. There will be a Zanzibar dance, traditional costume show, Kilimanjaro coffee tasting, hair braiding, and other experience booths where you can personally feel Tanzanian culture.
On the 30th, to celebrate Czech National Day, you can watch the ‘Marionette Children’s Puppet Show’ twice a day at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the 3D Theater on the first floor of the Suncheon Bay International Wetland Center.
The performance is presented by the Karomato Theater Company, which continues the classical tradition of marionette puppet shows. It is a work designed for everyone to enjoy through music, humor, and the characters of the puppets without dialogue.
On the 27th day since the opening of the 2023 Garden Expo, with over 2.22 million visitors, it is expected that more visitors of all ages will visit the expo grounds on weekends through these ‘National Day’ events.
Meanwhile, the organizing committee has confirmed participation in ‘National Day’ events from 14 countries and 17 cities across Asia, Europe, Africa, and South America, and plans to showcase various cultural events throughout the expo period through continuous communication with the participating countries.
