Living space platform SpaceCloud announced on the 28th that the ‘Host Day: Filming Edition’ event held the previous day at Maru180 in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, was successfully concluded.

SpaceCloud Host Day is a lecture and community event for shared space hosts to share services and marketing know-how necessary for space operation. This event was organized to deliver specialized operational know-how by space type such as filming studios, practice rooms, and party rooms, following the offline Host Day ‘Year-end Gathering Operation’ held last October after more than three years since COVID-19. The Filming Edition, targeting studio operators, marks the start of this year’s Host Day series, with the Practice Edition scheduled for July and the Gathering Edition for October.

Jung Suhyun, CEO of SpaceCloud, said in the opening keynote speech, “From commemorative shoots to professional groups, filming has now become a daily routine for MZ generation users,” adding, “As demand for the filming space rental market has been confirmed, I hope the insights shared at Host Day will make this spring a filming boost season.”

The first part of the lecture began with ‘Filming Insights Based on Reservation Data.’ SpaceCloud’s Host Care Team presented reservation trends such as space usage purposes, average rental prices, and rebooking rates based on big data of filming reservations over the past two years. In particular, they proposed appropriate pricing methods for space operators and ways to increase reservation conversion, receiving great responses.

In the second part, vivid cases from actual users and operators of filming spaces were shared. PD Kim Nanum, who gave a presentation titled ‘How Creators Choose Filming Spaces,’ emphasized that the content and concept of the space are important when selecting a studio, revealing elements of attractive filming spaces.

Following this, the operator of AltTab Space, which manages 10 concept spaces on SpaceCloud, was invited as a Super Host to share methods of building and operating a space brand. He emphasized the power of a unified concept, stating, “From three or more spaces, it begins to be recognized not as simple spaces but as a space brand.”

Additionally, marketing plans conducted by SpaceCloud to boost filming spaces were introduced, including the short-form creator campaign ‘SCloud Hipster’ and the photo review event ‘Concept Day.’ The event concluded with networking time for hosts to exchange business cards.

Despite being an event exclusively for filming studio space operators, this Host Day was lively with the highest number of attendees ever. A new host who opened a filming studio last month in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, commented, “User data is hard to see unless it’s from customers who made direct reservations, so it was good to gain insights on operation methods through the data.”

Hwang Seo-ok, team leader of SpaceCloud’s Host Care Team who planned the event, said, “We prepared solidly based on user data to solve hosts’ concerns about gaining their own competitiveness in the growing filming space rental market,” adding, “As a business partner for shared space operators, we will continue to strive to create added value for various shared spaces such as practice rooms and party rooms.”

Meanwhile, for hosts who could not attend the offline Host Day, the recorded lecture content will be shared as an online webinar. Applications are available through the SpaceCloud Host Center until May 4.
