At Taehwagang National Garden Wangbeodeul Square on the 28th-29th

A walking event to wish for overcoming dementia will take place in Ulsan.

Ulsan City announced that on the 28th and 29th, the ‘2023 Hanmaeum Dementia Overcoming Ulsan Walking Event’ will be held at the Wangbeodeul Square in Taehwagang National Garden.

The Hanmaeum Dementia Overcoming Walking Event is held annually in 17 cities and provinces nationwide as an event to practice ‘walking,’ which is good for dementia prevention, and to wish for overcoming dementia.

Due to COVID-19, the event was held online in the past, but this year it will be held in person for the first time in three years. The approximately 800m walking course will feature activities such as ‘Dan Bee,’ photo sessions, and dementia OX quizzes at each section, and participants will receive souvenirs upon completion.

Dan Bee, who will appear as the photo model, is a character symbolizing a dementia overcoming partner and plays the role of a diligent helper for dementia patients and their families. Additionally, a booth will be set up to provide information about the Dementia Safety Center project and various information about dementia, and dementia prevention exercises will be demonstrated to cheerfully promote walking and exercises as methods to prevent dementia.

This event is linked with the ‘Ulsan Health at a Glance!’ campaign, a project to improve health awareness among Ulsan citizens, allowing participants to access various health information provided by multiple participating organizations.
