Hwang Ju-ho, President of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, was appointed as a new director of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) in the United States on the 27th (local time). He is the only Asian company representative among the 39 directors.
EPRI is a nonprofit research organization focused on developing and promoting sustainable energy technologies, with over 1,000 member companies.
On the day, President Hwang met with Asad Mansour, CEO of EPRI, to discuss future cooperation directions such as the small modular reactor (SMR) business model, digital transformation, continued operation of nuclear power plants, and improvement of utilization rates.
President Hwang was appointed through a vote by the directors in March, with a term of four years. He is expected to engage in activities such as decision-making on senior appointments and director appointments at EPRI, as well as establishing personnel strategies.
