Full Lift of Traffic Restrictions on Gurye Nogodan Circular Road

Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will fully lift the traffic restrictions on a section of County Road No. 12, Nogodan Iljudoro (from Siamjae to Seongsamjae), L=1.5km.

Since March 15, full traffic restrictions and partial lifts were implemented due to "construction caused by thawing season accidents (rockfalls)" and "traffic accident prevention," but from April 28, 2023, the restrictions will be fully lifted.

The county quickly carried out repair work and safety inspections aiming for a full lift within April to respond to the increased tourist demand visiting Jirisan in spring.

A county official stated, "Even after the full opening, we will conduct frequent inspections until the thawing season in May to respond promptly to any emergencies, and in case of any incidents, we will cooperate with related organizations to ensure the safety of Nogodan Iljudoro."

He also urged, "Since the risk of additional collapse on the road slopes remains and due to the road’s characteristics being located in a high-altitude area, safety accident risks are expected, so users of the Iljudoro should exercise special caution."

Meanwhile, County Road No. 12, Nogodan Iljudoro, implements traffic restrictions on the 14km section from the entrance of Cheoneunsa parking lot to Dalgung Samgeori (Jeollanam-do boundary) every winter to prevent traffic accidents caused by road icing.
