On the 27th, during the appellate sentencing hearing of Jeon Joo-hwan held by the Seoul High Court Criminal Division 12-2 (Presiding Judges Jin Hyun-min, Kim Hyung-bae, Kim Gil-ryang), the prosecution made this request to the court.

Jeon Joo-hwan was brought to trial on charges including the murder of a woman he had been stalking, which occurred on September 14 last year in the women's restroom at Sindang Station on Seoul Subway Line 2, using a weapon he had prepared in advance.

It was investigated that Jeon, harboring resentment after the victim reported him and anticipating a heavy sentence in a separate stalking crime trial, confirmed her address and workplace information before preparing the weapon for the crime.

The first trial sentenced Jeon Joo-hwan to 40 years in prison on February 7, along with an order to wear an electronic location tracking device (electronic anklet) for 15 years.

Jeon appealed after receiving a 9-year prison sentence in the first trial for the stalking charge.

In this appellate trial, the two cases were consolidated. The appellate verdict is scheduled for June 13.
