The amount of telephone financial fraud damage in the Guro area has decreased by more than 50% compared to the previous year for two consecutive years. Last year's damage amount was 5.568 billion won, which is a 51.1% decrease compared to 2021 (11.378 billion won). Recently, a suspected voice phishing case in the Guro area was prevented through a 112 report by a bank branch employee. At Bank A's Guro Bon-dong branch, when a customer requested to increase the transfer limit and withdraw 50 million won in cash, the employee suspected voice phishing, requested to stop the transfer, and was able to prevent damage through a 112 report.

A representative of the Guro Police Station cited ▲strengthening the network between the police and financial institutions ▲focusing on arresting telephone financial fraud suspects ▲various promotional activities to prevent telephone financial fraud as reasons for the decrease in damage in the Guro area.

Kim Han-cheol, chief of the Guro Police Station, said, "We are strengthening cooperation with financial institutions and organizations to protect citizens' valuable assets," and added, "If someone you don't know asks for account transfers or cash withdrawals, please report it to 112 without hesitation."
