Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital marked its 19th anniversary by unveiling 10 core tasks and specific development goals reflecting new management objectives.
The strategy aims to establish the hospital as the "world's best cancer hospital and a patient-respecting hospital" through revitalizing medical services, strengthening research capabilities, and innovating management.
On the 26th, Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital held its 19th anniversary ceremony in the hospital auditorium and announced 'Vision 2030' for new changes and success strategies, the hospital stated on the 27th.
The anniversary ceremony was attended by Jeong Seong-taek, President of Chonnam National University; Ahn Young-geun, Director of Chonnam National University Hospital; Jeong Young-do, Dean of Chonnam National University College of Medicine; former hospital directors; and hospital staff.
The event proceeded with commemorative speeches, congratulatory messages, celebratory videos, awards for outstanding departments and employees, presentation of plaques of appreciation from external organizations, appointment letter presentations, and screening of the Vision 2030 video.
Jeong Seong-taek, President of Chonnam National University, stated, "Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital, which has established itself as the world's best cancer hospital, is confident that it will become a growth engine leading the era and South Korea through projects such as the establishment of an open medical innovation center and the bio-medical cluster focused business."
Ahn Young-geun, Director of Chonnam National University Hospital, said, "The brilliant history of Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital has been a time of challenge and positivity. The current world-class cancer specialty hospital was built through your challenges, sweat, and tears."
On this day, Gwangju Mayor Kang Ki-jung, Jeollanam-do Governor Kim Young-rok, and National Assembly member Shin Jeong-hoon congratulated Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital on its 19th anniversary and sent messages of support for the future via video.
Following this, awards expressing gratitude were presented to related organizations and individuals, including outstanding departments and employees, Gwangju Good Morning Hospital, Lim Jong-chae Internal Medicine Clinic, Jeong Kyung-tak of Mokpo Cultural City Center, and volunteer Jeon Soon-im. Additionally, appointment letters were awarded to Professor Kang Dae-hee of Seoul National University College of Medicine and journalist Lee Jin-han of Dong-A Ilbo as head of the Future Medical Research Group and public relations ambassador, respectively.
In the final segment, the Vision 2030 video screening reflected on the past 19 years and concretized the necessity and direction for the future regarding outpatient space expansion, promotion of a digital-based hospital, securing excellent medical staff and employees, and system improvements.
Hospital Director Jeong Yong-yeon emphasized, "Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital has grown over the past 19 years into a hospital recognized worldwide beyond South Korea, but still faces many challenges and tasks. Through 'Vision 2030,' we will move in a better direction, and everyone must run toward our dreams and goals with one heart and one mind."
