Gwangju Cheomdan Sports Park Park Golf Course Facility Maintenance and Renovation

Opening on May 1

The Park Golf Course at Cheomdan Sports Park in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City has been renovated with facility maintenance and other improvements.


According to the Gwangju Metropolitan City Sports Council on the 27th, the Cheomdan Sports Park Park Golf Course will reopen on May 1st after 42 days of maintenance.

To enhance convenience for the main users, the elderly, additional amenities such as a Mongolian tent will be added alongside the existing shade shelters, expanding various convenience facilities.


The Park Golf Course operated by the Gwangju Sports Council is 720 meters in total length and consists of 9 holes with varying levels of difficulty. Located in a pleasant environment with good accessibility, it has become a popular park golf destination not only for Gwangju citizens but also for people from other regions.


An average of 150 people use the course daily, and since its initial opening, it has attracted more than 50,000 visitors, demonstrating its popularity.


The operating hours are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the summer season (April to September) and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the winter season (October to March). The usage fee is 2,000 KRW, with discounts available for those aged 65 and older and national merit recipients. The course is closed every Tuesday for lawn maintenance and facility repairs.


Jeon Gap-su, the chairman of the Sports Council, said, “We will strive to manage the facilities so that the Cheomdan Sports Park Park Golf Course can become more active in the hearts of citizens. We will also do our best to ensure that citizens can exercise in a safe and pleasant environment by working with Gwangju City and the Park Golf Association to host various tournaments in the future.”
