Shin Daeseop, head of the Culture and Arts Division, along with related officials, visited the Seoul Museum of History to tour the permanent exhibition hall, which was renovated in 2022 to mark its 20th anniversary.
They also visited the National Museum of Korea to view the Donation Hall and the Digital Immersive Video Hall, and exchanged opinions on vivid on-site artifact exhibitions and museum operation experiences through a meeting with Kim Nakjung, Director of Administrative Operations at the National Museum of Korea.
Director Kim said, “While promoting the construction of the Pohang Municipal Museum, it is most important to specify the exhibition themes and artifacts. If we consider what to show the public and combine it with storytelling and modern exhibition techniques, it can become a museum loved by the public.”
Director Kim currently serves as an advisory committee member for the Pohang Municipal Museum construction promotion.
The visiting group, having toured two representative museums of Korea to observe distinctive artifact exhibition techniques and future exhibition directions utilizing advanced IT technologies, plans to incorporate these best practices into the future construction of the Pohang Municipal Museum.
Shin Daeseop, head of the Culture and Arts Division, said, “We will promote the construction of the Pohang Municipal Museum by fully reflecting Pohang’s identity, not merely by exhibiting a large number of artifacts. We will do our best to build a Pohang Municipal Museum where Pohang’s past, present, and future coexist.”
