Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) is promoting the "Gwanggyo Central Plaza International Design Competition" to complete the pedestrian axis in the central area of Gwanggyo New Town and create a high-quality complex cultural space.

The Gwanggyo Central Plaza will cover a site area of 11,455㎡ and a total floor area of 12,655㎡, with an above-ground plaza and an underground cultural space developed in a three-dimensional manner.

GH expects that once the central plaza is completed, the pedestrian axis from Gwanggyo Jungang Station and the Convergence Town to the Lake Park will be completed through connections via a pedestrian bridge and an underground pedestrian and vehicle road, greatly improving accessibility and openness with Gwanggyo Convergence Town.

The competition schedule runs from the 27th of this month to the 16th of next month. GH will conduct a technical review of the submitted proposals on July 5th and select the winning entry through a final evaluation on July 25th-26th.

Kim Seyong, President of GH, emphasized, "We are promoting this project as an international design competition to enhance the completeness of Gwanggyo New Town through the activation and landmarking of the central plaza. GH will fulfill its role as an opportunity partner to create a space of opportunity in Gyeonggi Province."
