The Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee announced on the 27th that it has signed a business agreement with the Green Mothers Central Association to create safe routes to and from school for 330 elementary schools in Seoul.
The company conducted traffic safety guidance activities with flags bearing safety slogans such as "Stop First at Crosswalks" in front of Isu Elementary School in Seoul. Additionally, to create safe child protection zones, it donated traffic safety flags to 200 elementary schools across 14 districts in Seoul. Last year, it also donated to 130 elementary schools and the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
Cheon Kyung-sook, President of the Green Mothers Central Association, said, "Since last year, the Green Mothers Central Association has been continuously conducting traffic safety campaigns with the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee to establish safe school routes where children can walk with peace of mind," adding, "We will strengthen cooperation so that traffic safety campaigns in child protection zones can achieve practical accident prevention effects and contribute to establishing a safe traffic culture."
These activities are part of a children's traffic safety education program developed by the German headquarters in 2001, in which over 2 million children from 13 countries worldwide participate.
