Byeongno Lee, Damyang County Governor, Throws First Pitch at Kia Tigers Game to Wish for Successful Bamboo Festival

Lee Byeong-no, the mayor of Damyang County, threw the ceremonial first pitch at the professional baseball game between the Kia Tigers and the NC Dinos held at Gwangju Kia Champions Field.


According to the county on the 27th, this first pitch event was held alongside the Damyang County Residents' Day Naming Day event to promote the Kia Tigers' victory and the ‘2023 New Bamboo Festival’ starting from the 3rd of next month.

After throwing the first pitch and delivering an honorary commentary, Mayor Lee Byeong-no watched the game with enthusiastic cheers alongside public officials, wishing for the home team Kia Tigers' victory.


In line with the first pitch event, Damyang County set up a hometown love donation promotion booth at the festival and the central entrance of the baseball stadium, distributing promotional items to spectators visiting the stadium and conducting various promotional activities.


Meanwhile, the 'New Bamboo Festival,' a bamboo festival held for the first time in four years, will take place for five days from May 3rd to 7th at Chuseong Stadium and the Gwanbangjerim area in Damyang County.


The festival, held under the theme ‘Let’s go into the bamboo forest,’ is filled with new and diverse programs as much as its changed festival name.


This year, the newly installed Dambit Music Hall serves as the main venue, designed to allow visitors to enjoy the charm and taste of Damyang amidst nature.
