BNK Busan Bank will open the ‘BNK Jeonse Fraud Victim Counseling Center’ on May 2 to support victims who are struggling due to the recent surge in Jeonse fraud cases.
The ‘BNK Jeonse Fraud Victim Counseling Center’ will be located on the 3rd floor of the Busan Bank Yeonsan-dong Financial Center in Yeonje-gu, Busan, and ‘Jeonse Fraud Victim Support Counseling Desks’ will also be operated at all branches to increase accessibility.
The support center will recommend the most suitable financial support programs through Jeonse fraud victim counseling and will assist from application to execution to ensure prompt support.
Key support measures include providing up to 20 million KRW in ‘emergency living funds’ to customers holding Busan Bank Jeonse deposit loans who have been confirmed as victims of Jeonse fraud.
When these customers apply for new mortgage loans or extensions of Jeonse deposit loan terms, a special interest rate reduction will be applied, offering up to a 2.0%p reduction from the product’s base interest rate for the first year.
Additionally, to ensure housing stability for Jeonse fraud victims, the sale and auction procedures for the fraud-affected housing will be postponed for more than six months.
Lee Soo-chan, Head of Credit Sales Division at Busan Bank, stated, “We hope the counseling support center will provide some help to Jeonse fraud victims who are facing difficulties. Busan Bank will continue to offer various support measures to aid in the recovery from Jeonse fraud.”
