He added, "Now that I have returned to work, I will tighten my shoelaces once again to ensure that urgent pending projects and campaign promises proceed without any setbacks."
He also said, "Above all, I want to express my apologies and gratitude to the 2,000 employees who did their best in their respective positions to ensure that not even a moment of administrative vacuum occurred," and added, "During my treatment period, I received much comfort and support from many people, which strengthened my resolve to devote myself even more to city administration for the sustainable development of Pohang and for the citizens who trusted me with the city’s governance."
Furthermore, Mayor Lee urged, "Especially, campaign promises made to the citizens are the core of city administration, so please do your best to fulfill these projects," and requested, "Please thoroughly check the major pending projects by each department and ensure meticulous execution of tasks."
Mayor Lee Gang-deok reviewed the progress of urgent issues such as the early implementation of disaster prevention projects to prepare for typhoons and other wind and flood disasters, expansion of industrial sites and related infrastructure construction necessary for attracting companies to secure future growth engines, and securing next year’s national budget, urging thoroughness in the execution of these tasks.
