Mountaineer Eom Hong-gil Supports 'Goheung' Through Hometown Love Donation

Gongyeongmin, the governor of Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced that mountaineer Eom Hong-gil donated hometown love funds with a heart supporting the development of Goheung-gun at the Goheung-gun ambassador appointment ceremony held on April 26.

According to the county, since January, hometown love fund donations from Goheung-gun ambassadors such as singers Na Gwang-jin, Jo Hang-jo, and Jinseong have continued, showing exceptional local affection.

Governor Gong Yeong-min said, “I am grateful for the precious connection with Goheung, and I deeply appreciate the heartfelt support for Goheung through hometown love donations,” adding, “As a Goheung-gun ambassador, I ask for much interest and promotion so that the hometown love donation system can be widely known.”

The hometown love donation system is a program implemented to create a sound donation culture for hometowns, reduce financial disparities between regions, and promote local economic revitalization. Individuals can donate to local governments other than their registered address and receive tax deductions and return gifts.

Individuals can donate up to 5 million KRW annually. To participate, donors can visit the ‘Hometown Love Connection’ website or visit any branch of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation bank nationwide to make a donation.

Donors receive a full tax deduction for donations up to 100,000 KRW, a 16.5% tax deduction for amounts exceeding 100,000 KRW up to 5 million KRW, and return gifts within 30% of the donation amount.
