Actress Angelina Jolie (47) is reported to be attending the White House state dinner welcoming President Yoon Suk-yeol alongside her son Maddox (22).
On the 25th (local time), the British Daily Mail cited White House sources, reporting that "Angelina Jolie and her eldest son Maddox are included in the list of 200 attendees for the state dinner welcoming President Yoon Suk-yeol."
According to the report, Jolie and Maddox will attend the official dinner following the Korea-US summit and enjoy special American cuisine infused with Korean flavors. The dinner will feature dishes such as galbijjim prepared by Korean-American chef Edward Lee.
Angelina Jolie visited the White House last September to urge the approval of the Violence Against Women Act and has recently been vocal on political, refugee, and women's issues.
Maddox Jolie Pitt, Jolie's eldest son adopted from Cambodia, is known to have a strong interest in Korean culture and K-pop. Maddox was admitted to Yonsei University's Underwood International College in 2019, majoring in Life Science and Engineering. He lived in the dormitory at the Incheon Songdo International Campus for one year and attended classes at the Sinchon Campus.
The dinner will feature performances by prominent American Broadway singers such as Norm Lewis from 'The Phantom of the Opera,' Lea Salonga from 'Miss Saigon,' and Jessica Vosk from 'Wicked.' Earlier, there were speculations about performances by the group BLACKPINK and Lady Gaga, but they were not included in the final lineup.
