A project is being promoted to pass on the experiences and know-how of female CEOs to future generations of female students, nurturing them as future women entrepreneurs.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 26th that it has selected 16 target schools for the "Future Women Entrepreneurs Nurturing Project," aimed at the successful start-up and employment of female students from specialized high schools and women's universities.
This project helps female students grow into future women entrepreneurs through women-specific experiential programs alongside senior female CEOs. Among the selected schools, six specialized high schools are in the metropolitan area, eight are in non-metropolitan areas, and for universities, Suwon Women's University in the metropolitan area and Gwangju Women's University in the non-metropolitan area were selected.
The main programs consist of △special lectures by successful female CEOs △practical start-up mentoring △field experiences at women-led companies △future women entrepreneurs workshops △global business explorations. The Korea Federation of Women Entrepreneurs, the operating organization, will also provide scholarships to outstanding female students participating in the project.
Lee Young, Minister of SMEs and Startups, said, "Promoting women's participation in economic activities is very important for the sustainable growth of our economy amid low birth rates and an aging population," adding, "I hope that sharing the valuable experiences of successful CEOs with future generations of female students will provide an opportunity for successful start-ups and employment."
