Shinhan Asset Management's first domestic 소재·부품·equipment (SoBuJang) ETFs, SOL Semiconductor SoBuJang Fn (455850) and SOL 2nd Battery SoBuJang Fn ETF, are showing signs of a 'big hit' from the first day of listing.
Shinhan Asset Management announced on the 25th that the 'SOL 2nd Battery SoBuJang Fn ETF,' which was listed this year, recorded the highest trading volume and net purchases by individuals among ETFs listed this year. On the first day of listing, 1,670,753 shares of the 'SOL 2nd Battery SoBuJang Fn ETF' were traded, and 8.4 billion KRW of individual investor funds flowed in. The simultaneously listed 'SOL Semiconductor SoBuJang Fn ETF' also recorded a trading volume and net purchase amount of 500,965 shares and 3 billion KRW, receiving strong interest from individual investors. Including pension accounts, more than 17 billion KRW poured into the two products in just one day.
Kim Jeong-hyun, Head of the ETF Business Division at Shinhan Asset Management, explained, "We believe that targeting the needs of individual investors for high-quality domestic semiconductor and 2nd battery SoBuJang stocks was effective," adding, "Investing in SoBuJang stocks requires understanding detailed process steps, analyzing individual companies, and considering risks of single-stock investments, making it a difficult area for individual investors to access, so we judged that related ETFs are absolutely necessary."
Meanwhile, SOL ETFs have surpassed 1 trillion KRW in net assets for the first time, signaling full-scale competition, thanks to the listing of the two semiconductor & 2nd battery SoBuJang ETFs. The net assets of SOL ETFs, which were 736 billion KRW last year, increased by about 40% since the beginning of the year, ranking first among all asset management companies during the same period.
Head Kim stated, "Along with monthly dividend ETFs such as SOL US Dividend Dow Jones, we believe we have clearly shown SOL's unique differentiation through this SOL SoBuJang series," and added, "We will continue to plan products from the investor's perspective and strive to become a trusted ETF."
