The Women’s Happiness Support Network is a public-private consultative body composed of experts in various women’s fields, responsible for discovering policies, diagnosing current conditions, suggesting directions, and communicating with residents to establish a leading model for the third phase of a women-friendly city.

Accordingly, Buk-gu formed the network by selecting a total of 50 members, including university professors, heads of related organizations and groups, and village activists, through open recruitment and recommendations, and operates it through five subcommittees for professional discussion and promotion of policies in various women’s fields.

The launch ceremony will be held with the attendance of about 80 people, including Moon In, the head of Buk-gu Office, city and district council members, and residents, proceeding in the order of awarding certificates of appointment, performances, and commemorative photos. Afterwards, the chairman and subcommittee heads will be elected through a meeting.

Starting with the launch ceremony, the network plans to carry out various projects and collaborative tasks to realize the five major goals of a women-friendly city: ▲establishing a foundation for gender equality policy promotion ▲expanding economic and social participation ▲enhancing community safety ▲creating a family-friendly (care) environment ▲strengthening community activity capabilities.

Moon In, head of Buk-gu Office, said, “We expect the Women’s Happiness Support Network to play a key role in establishing the third-phase leading model of a women-friendly city,” and added, “We will continue to strive to create a Buk-gu where men and women equally participate in local policies and development processes and where women can enjoy a happy life.”
