"Why Aren't You Answering the Phone?"... 30s Man Arrested for Detaining and Beating Ex-Lover

On the 25th, the Daegu Northern Police Station arrested and is investigating a man in his 30s, Mr. A, on charges of assault and confinement for locking his ex-lover in a car and assaulting her because she did not answer his phone calls.

According to the police, Mr. A is accused of hitting the passenger-side window of the victim's car with a stone and confining the victim inside the vehicle at a parking lot in Daehyeon-dong, Buk-gu, around 7:46 PM on the 24th.

Afterwards, Mr. A reportedly drove the car for about 250 meters while assaulting the victim. Police who responded to reports from the victim and witnesses arrested Mr. A at the scene. It is reported that Mr. A stated he committed the crime because he was angry that the victim did not answer his phone calls.

A police official said, "We are checking whether Mr. A has received any restraining orders or similar measures."
