The meeting promotion project for unmarried men and women, hosted by the city and organized by the Pohang branch of the One More Child Movement Federation (Branch Chief Baek Jeong-sook), recruits participants among unmarried office workers aged 27 to 39 who live or work in Pohang, providing natural opportunities for meetings to those who lack chances to meet others.

This year, pop art, "I Read You" (book discussion), and woodworking hobby classes were held once a week for two hours each from April 5 to 21. All participants from the three hobby classes attended the integrated workshop to communicate and harmonize.

Participants in the workshop said, "While working, I had few opportunities to meet people from various fields, but this chance gave me hope to meet a good match," and added, "I am grateful to Pohang City for providing opportunities to communicate with diverse people."

So far, Pohang City has conducted the meeting promotion project 35 times, with 3,090 men and women applying and 1,897 participating, receiving enthusiastic responses from unmarried men and women. In particular, this year, 98 male applicants showed explosive interest.

Choi Myung-hwan, Director of the Welfare Bureau, said, "I hope this workshop provided unmarried men and women with an opportunity to meet good matches," and added, "Pohang City will continue to do its best to promote youth projects that offer practical help."
