Prosecutors Indict Six Teenagers for Beating a Man in His 40s and Extorting Large Sums After Luring Him into Prostitution

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, Women and Children Crime Investigation Division 1 (Chief Prosecutor Kim Eun-mi) announced on the 24th that it had indicted six teenagers in their 10s (three of whom are in custody) on charges including robbery and injury for luring a man in his 40s into prostitution, violently beating him, and stealing his money on the 20th.

According to the prosecution, on the 26th of last month, the suspects approached the victim, whom they met through a chat app, and lured him to a motel in Bongcheon-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, under the pretense of prostitution. They are accused of collectively assaulting him with fists and feet and strangling him with a towel until he lost consciousness. They are also charged with threatening to spread information about the prostitution and coercing the victim to transfer 51 million won.


The prosecution stated, "While we are making efforts to rehabilitate and guide juvenile offenders, we will respond strictly to violent crimes that exceed those limits."
