Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will hold the 1st Chilseo Ecological Park Green Barley and Peony Festival from May 5 to May 7 at Chilseo Gangnaru Ecological Park in Haman.
Under the theme "A Day to Enjoy Spring in the Green Barley and Peony Fields," the festival is preparing to welcome visitors with 420,000㎡ of lush green barley along the Nakdong River and 24,000㎡ of fragrant pink peony flowers, allowing them to fully experience the spring day.
This festival offers various attractions and activities including walking along paths between the green barley fields, viewing the peony flower fields, sharing peony tea, natural dyeing experiences, horseback riding, invited singer performances, sales of agricultural and specialty products, and food trucks.
According to the county, this festival, held for the first time this year, allows visitors to fully enjoy the spring day amid the swaying green barley and the bright pink peony fields. In particular, through various programs linked with the Gangnaru ecological resources, visitors can experience Haman's excellent natural scenery and spend time relaxing and healing.
Additionally, as a related event, the 3rd Aragaya Woodcarving Festival will be held. Woodcarving works will be exhibited within Chilseo Gangnaru Ecological Park, and a caricature experience class will also be operated.
County Governor Jo Geun-je said, "We invite you to Haman, which is advancing as a historical and cultural tourism city with the UNESCO World Heritage registration of the Malyisan Tumuli and the creation of the Aragaya historical heritage district. Please enjoy the excellent natural scenery along with the Chilseo Ecological Park Green Barley and Peony Festival."
