Gyeonggi Province will provide up to 200 million KRW in investment funds for productivity improvement to companies returning to Korea from overseas.

Gyeonggi Province announced that it has selected five companies as recipients of the "2023 Gyeonggi Province Domestic Returning Company Support Project" to support the stable settlement of returning companies: Mectron Co., Ltd., Geumma Yugi Gongye Co., Ltd., Senatech Korea Co., Ltd., Sambopack Co., Ltd., and Yedaji Co., Ltd. On the 24th, the province signed support agreements with these companies at the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency.

The province will provide up to 200 million KRW to these returning companies for smart factory and robot automation construction projects to improve productivity and employment structure. Additionally, up to 70 million KRW will be supplied to enhance the capabilities of returning companies through new technology development patent applications, testing and analysis for domestic and international certification, prototype production, and management environment improvement.

In the fields of smart process construction and robot automation, two companies, Mectron Co., Ltd. and Geumma Yugi Gongye Co., Ltd., were selected. Mectron Co., Ltd., which manufactures condenser insulation terminal plates, previously managed processes using Excel programs, but with this support, it is expected to establish a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) enabling real-time data analysis. This will significantly reduce defect rates and improve production efficiency.

Geumma Yugi Gongye Co., Ltd., which manufactures traditional lacquerware, will introduce a robot automation system in heat treatment and rolling processes. This is expected to improve the working environment and enable efficient workforce reallocation, resulting in approximately a 300% increase in production volume.

In the commercialization field for prototype production and equipment development, Senatech Korea Co., Ltd., which develops OCA molds used in mobile phone LCDs, Sambopack Co., Ltd., which develops automatic product stackers, and Yedaji Co., Ltd., a molding and door development company, were selected. Mectron Co., Ltd. and Geumma Yugi Gongye Co., Ltd. will also participate in the commercialization support project.

Lee Min-woo, Director of the Investment and Trade Division of the province, emphasized, "We will provide maximum support to ensure the successful completion of each selected company's project," and added, "We will create an environment where overseas-expanding companies can continue their business activities and expand investments in Gyeonggi Province."

The support targets are companies in the province that have received a "Certificate of Selection as a Supported Domestic Returning Company" issued by the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy.
