Incheon Songdo Circular City Bus Routes Adjusted from 29th... Route 47 Established, Route 44 Discontinued

The city bus routes circulating in Songdo International City, Incheon, will be adjusted.

Incheon City announced on the 24th that it will implement adjustments to city bus routes starting from the 29th, considering the move-in of new apartments in Songdo Districts 6 and 8.

The city reorganized the Songdo circular city bus routes into east and west sections centered around the area near the Korea Coast Guard, which has the highest demand, by reflecting mobile communication data and the usage status of I-MOD (demand-responsive bus) over the past year.

For each route, circular routes 41 and 42 will each increase one bus from 8 to 9 buses through redeployment.

Additionally, routes 43 (5 buses) and 46 (6 buses) will be adjusted, and route 47 (3 buses) will be newly established. The Songdo Districts 5 and 10 section of the discontinued circular route 44 will be absorbed into route 43.

Looking at the details, circular route 41 will mainly operate around apartment complexes in Songdo 1-dong (Districts 2 and 4) and Songdo 3-dong (Districts 5 and 7), with the route extended to Yeonsong High School. The interval between buses will be reduced from the previous 18?24 minutes to 16?22 minutes.

Circular route 42 will circulate through apartment complexes in Songdo 4-dong (Districts 3 and 6) and Songdo 5-dong (District 8), extending to Sin Song High School, Global Town Station, and Incheon Global Campus. The interval between buses will be reduced from the previous 23?28 minutes to 17?23 minutes.

Circular route 43 will be adjusted by reducing the number of buses from 8 to 5 and absorbing the operation section (Districts 5 and 10) of the discontinued circular route 44. It will connect apartment complexes in Songdo 4-dong (District 6) centered around Technopark Station, the International Business District Station, the academy district in Songdo 2-dong, and Songdo Sports Center.

Circular route 46 will operate the existing 98 city (trunk) bus route and pass through the discontinued sections of circular route 41 in Songdo 2-dong (District 1) and Songdo 4-dong (District 3). Also, the existing 525 city (branch) bus route will be changed to route 55 city (trunk) bus route type.

The newly established circular route 47 will connect major Incheon Subway Line 1 stations, the academy district in Songdo 2-dong, Yeonsong High School, and Art Center Incheon from apartment complexes in Songdo 1-dong (District 4) and Songdo 5-dong (District 8).

An official from Incheon City stated, "Although transfers may occur in some sections due to route changes and adjustments, analyzing citizens' bus travel patterns and improving winding routes will enhance convenience for users."
