Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 24th that it will operate the "2023 Smart Drone Expert Training Course," which supports 50% of the tuition fees to cultivate practical drone operators through obtaining the national drone license (Type 2).
Since March, the city has announced the recruitment of executing agencies and conducted a selection review, appointing the Jeonnam Culture and Education Promotion Institute as the subsidy project operator for the "2023 Smart Drone Expert Training Course."
Recruitment of trainees is open until the 28th, with a total of 24 trainees: 12 for the agricultural pest control field and 12 for the aerial photography field.
Applicants must be citizens aged 14 or older as of January 1, 2023, residing in Gwangyang City to be eligible to apply.
If the number of applicants exceeds the recruitment quota, a fair evaluation will be conducted based on separate selection criteria such as age, length of residence, and drone ownership to select the final 24 trainees.
Selected trainees can choose between weekday and weekend classes, complete theoretical and practical training, and then take the national drone license exam.
