The first stage of this year’s ‘Triple Crown Race,’ the 19th KRA Cup Mile (GII) stakes race, will be held on the 30th at LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam.
The Triple Crown Race refers to three major events held annually from April to July, alternating between LetsRun Park Seoul and Busan-Gyeongnam: the KRA Cup Mile (GII, April, 1600m, 700 million KRW), the Korean Derby (GI, May, 1800m, 1 billion KRW), and the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Cup (GII, July, 2000m, 700 million KRW).
The total prize money for the three events amounts to 2.4 billion KRW, and the racehorse that performs the best across these three stakes races will be crowned the Best 3-Year-Old and receive an additional incentive of 100 million KRW.
The Korea Racing Authority (KRA) racing broadcast announced that it has prepared an even more special broadcast.
Live content such as analysis of the participating racehorses’ early morning training, interviews with horse-related personnel, and various stories from the race day venue will be streamed on the KRA Racing Broadcast (KRBC) YouTube channel.
A racing broadcast official said, “Through YouTube, we aim to deliver vivid training scenes and sportsmanship from the field beyond the race itself, enhancing understanding and trust in horse racing.”
He added, “In addition to these main programs, Triple Crown-related content can also be enjoyed on special KRA programs and channels run by horse racing YouTubers.”
