After the project selection, the county signed a consignment agreement with the Jeonju, Wanju, and Imsil branches of the Korea Rural Community Corporation to ensure a solid and systematic project implementation.
To comprehensively renovate the two villages, the county commissioned the basic planning service and took the first step toward a long journey of over three years together with the village promotion committee chairpersons and residents.
The Rural Vulnerable Area Living Conditions Improvement Project aims to improve the quality of life of residents and guarantee a basic standard of living by enhancing living infrastructure in rural villages where housing conditions are poor and safety and hygiene are vulnerable.
Since last year, the county plans to invest a total of 3.3 billion KRW over four years until 2025, with 1.7 billion KRW for Singi Village and 1.6 billion KRW for Gagok Village.
County Governor Shim Min said, “This project is expected to greatly improve the rural living environment by resolving long-standing demands of local residents and expanding the poor infrastructure in rural areas. We will continue to do our best to build a livable Imsil by proactively addressing residents’ inconveniences through on-site administration and preventing safety accidents in advance.”
