On the 24th, KCC announced that it continued its forest creation and preservation activities by planting 1,000 trees in Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do, which suffered damage from wildfires and other disasters.

On the 21st, KCC held an environmental campaign to plant 1,000 trees in the Jajin-ri area of Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do, attended by Park Gwang-yong, Deputy Governor of Goseong, Yoo Chan-seon, President of the Korea Future Environment Association, Hwang Hong-seok, Executive Director of KCC, local residents, and other stakeholders. Jajin-ri in Goseong-gun is one of the areas affected by the wildfire that damaged a total of 356 hectares of forest on March 28, 2018. Since last year, KCC has been conducting the "To the Forest, To the Future" campaign with the Korea Future Environment Association to create and preserve forests. Following the planting of 1,000 pine trees last year, KCC took the lead in forest restoration by planting another 1,000 pine trees this year next to the forest created last year.

Prior to this, KCC added significance by holding an event on its official Instagram where one tree would be planted for each comment, encouraging consumer participation to raise awareness for forest preservation. More than 900 consumers participated in this event, showing interest in the forest. KCC plans to promote the tree planting activities and the "To the Forest, To the Future" campaign by producing content on its YouTube channel "KCC TV," encouraging many consumers to join the campaign.

Through the "To the Forest, To the Future" campaign, KCC plans to continue planting 1,000 trees annually to restore the once lush forest and sustain efforts for forest creation and preservation. Additionally, KCC intends to carry out various environmental preservation campaigns with the Korea Future Environment Association and pursue sisterhood ties with Goseong-gun, emphasizing ongoing efforts rather than one-time actions.

A Goseong-gun office official stated, “The second tree planting activity with KCC and the Korea Future Environment Association will serve as a catalyst for the rapid recovery of the forest ecosystem in the Goseong area of Gangwon-do,” adding, “We will strive to restore the lush forest space not only for the residents of Jajin-ri but also for tourists visiting Goseong-gun.”

A KCC official said, “The 'To the Forest, To the Future' campaign is a meaningful environmental activity encouraging all our citizens to participate in forest creation and preservation,” and added, “KCC will continue its long-term efforts in forest restoration and environmental conservation.”
