Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced on the 24th that Jang Dong-hwa (61), a former provincial council member, has been appointed as the 3rd president of the Changwon Industrial Promotion Agency, an affiliated institution.
The newly appointed President Jang was selected as the final candidate following the Changwon Industrial Promotion Agency board review on April 4th, and was approved by the Changwon Special City Council’s personnel verification on the 17th. The president’s term is two years, from the 24th of this month until April 23, 2025, with the possibility of one renewal.
Jang Dong-hwa (61), a former provincial council member, has been appointed as the third president of the Changwon Industry Promotion Agency.
원본보기 아이콘Born in Changwon, President Jang is a professional industrial economist with diverse experience in both public and private sectors, having served as a member of the 4th, 5th, and 1st Unified Changwon City Councils, a member of the 10th Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council, a corporate executive, and a policy advisor to a member of the National Assembly.
At the start of his term, President Jang stated, “The Changwon Industrial Promotion Agency plays a crucial role in establishing an innovative growth economic foundation necessary for nurturing future industries. It is an institution that must prepare for the next 50 years of Changwon’s industrial economy by securing competitiveness in Changwon’s core industries and realizing high added value. Internally, we will comprehensively diagnose and analyze the organization and personnel to operate efficiently and strengthen organizational capabilities. Externally, we will utilize all networks to attract large-scale public projects and initiatives to contribute to the innovative growth of Changwon’s industries.”
This year, the Changwon Industrial Promotion Agency has established a strategic goal to create a competitive and sustainable industrial ecosystem in Changwon, implementing four core strategies: ▲establishing Changwon’s industrial policies and discovering future industries ▲fostering global small and medium enterprises through strengthening technological competitiveness ▲leading the hydrogen industry to secure a position as a hydrogen-leading city △and nurturing excellent local talent tailored to companies.
