Yeungjin College's Department of Computer Information, selected as the lead university for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'Small and Medium Enterprise Technical Officer' program, has launched the 'Semiconductor Software Technology Officer Project Group' and held a project briefing session to officially kick off the initiative.
The Department of Computer Information's 'Semiconductor Software Technology Officer Project Group' announced on the 24th that it held a project briefing session on the 20th for students of Daegu Jeil Girls' Commercial High School, a vocational high school participating in this project.

원본보기 아이콘At this briefing session, about 130 second- and third-year students from the high school attended, where they received a comprehensive introduction to the project, information on participation benefits, and future schedules, followed by a Q&A session. Additionally, a special lecture was given by the representative of a company partnered in this project.
Starting with this briefing session, the project group will select second- and third-year high school students to participate in the project and conduct special after-school courses, support for certification acquisition, and industrial site visits and training.
Furthermore, these students will be able to enter Yeungjin College's Department of Computer Information, complete the first-year common curriculum, and then strengthen their capabilities in one of three tracks during their second and third years: 'System Administrator Track,' 'System Software Developer Track,' and 'IT Convergence Content Track,' with employment opportunities also linked.
Students participating in the project will receive full support for all courses operated by the project group. Benefits include a training support fund of 1 million KRW upon admission to Yeungjin College, an incentive of 1 million KRW for obtaining an industrial engineer certification after enrollment, a 500,000 KRW incentive for participating students, and priority selection for the Hope Ladder Scholarship for colleges (full tuition + 2 million KRW per semester).
The Department of Computer Information will also hold a project briefing session on May 4th for Gyeongbuk Technical High School, which is participating in this project.
The department has established itself as a cradle for excellent IT talent, achieving an employment rate of 90.5% (based on 2022 graduates, internal standards). Notably, it boasts an unprecedented achievement of 477 overseas employment cases over the past 14 years (58 in 2022), the best record nationwide. Thanks to these achievements, it has been selected annually for the government-supported overseas employment support projects K-Move School and Cheonghaejin from 2009 to this year.
Additionally, it is the only junior college selected in the artificial intelligence field of the Ministry of Education's Korean New Deal project, 'Digital Innovation Shared University Project,' which aims to train 100,000 core talents in new technology fields, receiving approximately 7 billion KRW in government funding until 2026. Participating in the Ministry of Education's 'LINC 3.0' project as well, the Department of Computer Information is accelerating the cultivation of talent in digital new technology fields in response to the technological changes of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
