Gyeongbuk Superintendent of Education Lim Jong-sik Appoints 29 Future Education Committee Members for Global Leap Based on Innovation

On the 24th, the Gyeongbuk Office of Education held the '3rd Gyeongsangbuk-do Future Education Committee Member Appointment Ceremony and Regular Meeting.'

The 'Gyeongsangbuk-do Future Education Committee' plays a role in deliberating and advising on important matters related to the establishment of future education policies and educational development.

The 3rd committee consists of a total of 29 members, including 27 appointed members selected with consideration of fields and gender?7 from academia and education, 1 recommended by the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council, 6 from local community figures, and 6 experts in relevant fields?as well as 2 internal members including the Director of the Education Bureau. The term lasts until the end of March 2025.

At the first meeting, the 3rd committee chairperson and vice-chairperson were elected, and through discussions on committee operation plans, it was decided to organize and operate four subcommittees aligned with the policy direction of the 5th elected superintendent: (Curriculum with Life, Empowering Future Education, Schools Adding Warmth, and Innovative Educational Support).

Going forward, the subcommittees will select tasks for each field and provide fresh and diverse ideas through discussions to assist in establishing education policies, ensuring that related educational policies are implemented effectively.

The Gyeongsangbuk-do Future Education Committee has been organized and operated since the enactment of the ordinance on February 28, 2019, and through annual regular meetings, it presents concrete and in-depth directions for educational development such as the 'Comprehensive Plan for Warm Educational Recovery,' 'Sustainable Development Education Policy,' and 'Gyeongbuk Future Education Policy,' seeking qualitative advancement of education in Gyeongbuk.

Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Education, stated, “For Gyeongbuk education to open a new future by achieving learning that empowers life and a harmonious community based on innovation, I ask all members of the 3rd committee to actively participate in the journey to leap forward as a global standard in education, based on their expertise and experience in each field.”
