Haedam Rice is the second most widely cultivated variety in Namhae-gun and is an early-maturing variety of the highest quality grown before Chuseok. It is resistant to diseases and has a high amylose content, giving the rice grains a delicious chewiness and a fluffy texture.

Jung Kwangsu, Director of the Agricultural Technology Division, said, "As the main seedbed period begins, farmers need to pay special attention to seed disinfection and seedling management to prevent rice blast disease," adding, "We will actively guide timely rice transplanting to produce high-quality rice."

Namhae-gun is supporting agricultural materials such as seedling soil for rice seedlings, box seedling support for small-scale farms, organic fertilizers, and soil conditioners to ensure stable rice production for farmers. The policy aims to induce high-quality rice production through thorough pest and disease monitoring and control, including timely transplanting, regular pest surveillance, aerial spraying, and support for sudden pest outbreak control agents.
