A juvenile offender exempt from criminal punishment, who had been caught by the police for theft, was apprehended again the day after being released for stealing precious metals from a jewelry store.
The Gwangju Seobu Police Station announced on the 20th that they had booked middle school student A without detention on charges of theft.
A is accused of stealing precious metals worth approximately 18 million won from a jewelry store in Chipyeong-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju, at around 12:50 p.m. that day.
He acted like a customer while wearing a pure gold bracelet and took the precious metals while the jewelry store owner briefly looked away.
A hid in nearby commercial buildings and was arrested by police who responded to a report. The day before, he was caught after stealing a motorcycle.
A is reported to be a juvenile offender under the age of 14, exempt from criminal punishment.
The police have recovered some of the precious metals from A and are tracking two accomplices believed to have taken the remaining items, while investigating the exact circumstances of the case.
