The SW-Centered University Project Group at Dongmyung University is hosting a series of special lectures by inviting executives from leading domestic game companies.
This special lecture series is being held to prepare for the expansion and reorganization of the Game Department, including the establishment of a new Game Graphics major, and to build an industry network with leading domestic game companies.
On the 18th, as the first MEET-UP event, Executive Director Jang Hyun-young from NCSoft was invited to give a special lecture titled "Games and Gamers as Professionals" at the Central Library Auditorium.
About 100 people attended the lecture, including students from the Game Engineering Department, Computer Engineering Department, Digital Contents Department, AI Department, Information Security Department, and professors from the Game Engineering Department.
Executive Director Jang Hyun-young began by analyzing the status of Korean games as the birthplace of online games and e-sports, as well as the current state of the domestic and international game industries, and introduced the game development process and environment within NCSoft.
He explained various job categories in the game industry such as software development, graphics, sound, scenario writing, planning, game operation and security, and motion capture, and through interview videos with NCSoft experts, informed students about what preparations are necessary for employment in the game field.
After the lecture, there was a 30-minute session for discussion and Q&A with enrolled students.
The project group plans to continue the MEET-UP series of special lectures by inviting executives from leading domestic game companies, including Executive Director Jung Hyun-young from NCSoft, the Game Rating and Administration Committee, Netmarble, and Kakao Games, throughout the first half of this year.
