Changwon National University will hold the "CWNU Gaon Hall Opening Commemorative Concert with Changwon National University, Gyeongnam Police and Fire Families, and Changwon Citizens" at 7 p.m. on May 3rd in the CWNU Gaon Hall of the university's Global Lifelong Learning Center (Building 98).
On the 20th, the university announced that this concert was organized as part of the university's key initiatives for this year’s National University Development Project, including contributing to regional community development, promoting university-community collaborative cultural arts, and establishing an open campus for the local community.
According to the university, the concert celebrates the transformation of the large auditorium in the Global Lifelong Learning Center into "Gaon Hall," a multipurpose educational and cultural complex open to both university members and the local community.
Through environmental improvement projects, the university installed LED screens, stage lighting, and a Steinway piano in Gaon Hall, and revised facility operation guidelines to open the hall to local citizens.
The concert will feature performances by Changwon National University’s music faculty and invited professors, combining vocal performances by sopranos and tenors with trombone, piano, and orchestra accompaniment.
Hosted by the Changwon National University National University Development Project Group and organized by the Department of Music, this concert is free and open to all citizens.
Invitation tickets can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis from April 24th to May 1st through the Changwon National University website.
President Lee Ho-young said, “As the only arts college in the Gyeongnam region, Changwon National University’s College of Arts and its Department of Music will open the doors of CWNU Gaon Hall wide by presenting a high-quality classical concert that is rarely accessible in the region. We will use this opportunity to develop Gaon Hall not only as an educational space but also as a venue for culture and the arts.”
