Chungnam Province has secured two government-supported projects for industrial complex support.
On the 20th, the province announced that it was selected for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s “Industrial Complex Environment Improvement Project” and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ “Public-Private Partnership Smart Innovation District Creation Project.”
The Industrial Complex Environment Improvement is part of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s package support project for Geumsan Ginseng and Herbal Medicine Agricultural and Industrial Complex, with a budget of 10 billion KRW (4.5 billion KRW in national funds). The Public-Private Partnership Smart Innovation District Creation project, led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, will invest 8 billion KRW (4 billion KRW in national funds) to develop the Cheonan Baekseok Agricultural and Industrial Complex Smart Innovation District.
The province expects that being selected for these projects will also boost the industrial complex worker environment improvement project, which aims to innovate enterprises and improve working conditions for employees.
The industrial complex worker environment improvement project, focusing on improving residential conditions and facilities in industrial complexes, has been carried out annually since 2014.
A provincial official stated, “We will do our best to enhance workers’ quality of life and create a favorable atmosphere in the industrial complexes. To this end, the province will strive to continuously discover and support projects so that related projects can be expanded next year.”
