Accordingly, at the demonstration test field of the Imsil-gun Agricultural Technology Center, a total of 350 chrysanthemum sculptures will be created, including eight medium-sized varieties such as Dairy Cow, Goat, and Angel's Wings, and seven small-sized varieties such as Clover, Heart, and Water Drop.
They were planted on the 19th and will grow for five months to be displayed around the festival site, including the Cheese Theme Park, during the Imsil N Cheese Festival, providing a rich visual experience harmonized with the blue autumn sky.
This year, in relation to the opening of the Okjeongho Suspension Bridge last year, the production of potted chrysanthemums and chrysanthemum sculptures displayed around Bungeo Island will be expanded.
The county Agricultural Technology Center is doing its best to upgrade this beautiful tourist destination, which attracted over 520,000 visitors during the four-day festival last year, to create a must-visit Imsil and lay the foundation for the era of ten million tourists in Imsil.
The ten million chrysanthemum flower landscape will be exhibited around the Cheese Theme Park during the festival and is highly loved by tourists during the Cheese Festival period.
Last year, more than 30,000 chrysanthemum flower pots, carefully cultivated from spring every year by the county Agricultural Technology Center, were beautifully displayed around the Imsil Cheese Theme Park. The main photo zone featured a sculpture of the late Father Ji Jeong-hwan, the father of Imsil Cheese, and a goat, drawing admiration from visitors.
Visitors took photos all around the festival site, feeling as if every spot was a photo zone, and posted them on SNS, establishing the content as highly effective for external festival promotion.
The chrysanthemum flower pots were also beautifully displayed at the Okjeongho Suspension Bridge and Bungeo Island Ecological Park, which were temporarily opened last year, significantly contributing to attracting about 500,000 tourists during this period.
County Governor Shim Min said, “The chrysanthemum flower landscape produced and exhibited by the Agricultural Technology Center is the main contributor to the success of the Cheese Festival and attracting many tourists to the Okjeongho Suspension Bridge and Bungeo Island.” He added, “This year as well, we will carefully cultivate chrysanthemums from spring and make thorough preparations to impress the numerous tourists visiting the festival and Okjeongho this fall.”
