So Byung-yong was inaugurated as the 29th Chief of Jeju Maritime Police Station on the 20th.
According to Jeju Maritime Police Station on the day, the newly appointed Chief So Byung-yong skipped a separate inauguration ceremony and began his official duties by checking the maritime security situation in the control room.
Chief So Byung-yong, who joined the police in 1999 through the sergeant recruitment exam (special investigation recruitment), is from Wanju, Jeonbuk, and graduated from the Department of Judicial Studies, College of Law, Jeonbuk National University. He has held key positions such as Head of Investigation Division at Taean Maritime Police Station, Auditor at the Maritime Police Agency, and Head of Investigation Division at the Safety General Department of the South Sea Regional Maritime Police Agency.
Chief So said, “Let us become a strong Jeju Maritime Police that is strong on the ground and does its best in any situation to protect the lives and property of the people,” adding, “We will take the lead in creating a safe and clean sea through communication and harmony.”
