Victims of jeonse fraud and civic groups urged the government to come up with effective measures, stating that the government's auction suspension policy is only a temporary measure.
Members of the National Countermeasure Committee for Jeonse Fraud Victims and the Civil Society Countermeasure Committee are meeting with an administrative officer from the Office of the Senior Secretary for Civil Society on the 20th near the Presidential Office in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, to submit a request for a presidential meeting regarding Jeonse fraud.

On the 20th, the 'National Countermeasures Committee for Jeonse Fraud and Empty Jeonse Victims' and the 'Civil Society Countermeasures Committee for Resolving Jeonse Fraud and Empty Jeonse Issues' held a press conference requesting a meeting with President Yoon Seok-yeol in front of the Presidential Office in Yongsan, Seoul, regarding jeonse fraud countermeasures.
They stated, "We have serious concerns about the government's one-sided, showy measures that lack effectiveness," and added, "During the time secured by the temporary suspension of auctions, which is only a provisional measure, a special law must be enacted and effective countermeasures must be prepared."
They then submitted a meeting request letter to the Administrative Officer of the Office of Civil Society Affairs. They had attempted to submit the request letter the previous day through Kang Seung-gyu, Senior Secretary for Civil Society at the Presidential Office, but it was rejected. The reason given was that related agencies were reviewing and preparing countermeasures.
The inter-ministerial task force (TF) supporting victims of jeonse fraud held its first meeting the day before and agreed to seek cooperation to postpone auctions on houses affected by jeonse fraud in Michuhol-gu, Incheon.
