Busan Office of Education, Average Competition Rate for Local Government Employee Recruitment Exam 14.3 to 1

Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 20th that 1,825 applicants applied for 128 positions in the 2023 local government employee recruitment exam, showing an average competition rate of 14.3 to 1.


This year, the number of recruits increased by 10 (8.5%) from 118 last year, while the number of applicants decreased by 373 (16.9%) from 2,202 last year. The competition rate also dropped compared to last year's 18.7 to 1.


The competition rates by recruitment category were ▲ Education Administration Grade 9 (General) 20.5 to 1 ▲ Computer Science Grade 9 (General) 27 to 1 ▲ Librarian Grade 9 (General) 80 to 1 ▲ Engineering Grade 9 (General Mechanical) 7.3 to 1 ▲ Engineering Grade 9 (General Electrical) 6.3 to 1 ▲ Health Grade 9 22.5 to 1 ▲ Facilities Grade 9 (General Civil Engineering) 7 to 1 ▲ Facilities Grade 9 (Architecture) 3.8 to 1 ▲ Records Researcher 17 to 1.


The career competitive recruitment exam for Facilities Management Grade 9 had 70 applicants for 20 positions, showing a competition rate of 3.5 to 1.

The competition rate for low-income recruitment, aimed at expanding and guaranteeing public office opportunities for socially disadvantaged groups, was 14 to 1 for Education Administration. For disabled recruitment, the competition rates were 4 to 1 for Education Administration Grade 9 (Disabled) and 3 to 1 for Librarian Grade 9 (Disabled), respectively.


The gender ratio of applicants was 565 males (31%) and 1,260 females (69%). By age group, there were 900 applicants aged 20 or younger (49.3%), 667 in their 30s (36.6%), 229 in their 40s (12.5%), and 29 aged 50 or older (1.6%).


The written exam will announce the test locations on May 25 and will be held on June 10 at middle and high schools within the jurisdiction.
