Suncheon-si Forms Integrity TF Team to Improve Integrity Levels

Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Nogwan-gyu) announced on the 20th that it has formed a ‘Integrity TF Team’ and held a department integrity policy briefing session to implement administration trusted by citizens.

Mayor Nogwan-gyu of Suncheon led the team, with participation from 11 department heads and 30 team leaders. They discussed measures to improve integrity in preparation for the 2023 comprehensive integrity evaluation, including ▲analysis of corruption-prone areas ▲deriving improvement plans for corruption-prone areas ▲promotion of customized integrity policies by department.

The city plans to hold regular meetings to gather employee opinions and focus all efforts on improving corruption-prone areas through the promotion and effectiveness inspection of integrity policies.

This year, the city has implemented anti-corruption and integrity policies such as ▲opening and operating the direct reporting channel to the Audit Office for public officials’ corruption and misconduct, the Cheongsunman Reporting Center (Making Suncheon Clean) ▲weekly integrity broadcasts ▲sending integrity letters and text messages ▲selecting integrity slogans ▲integrity happy calls.

Additionally, the city plans to actively promote integrity education for all employees on preventing abuse of power and compliance with the public officials’ code of conduct, as well as inspections of corruption-prone areas and publicity for protecting whistleblowers.

On this day, Mayor Nogwan-gyu said, “We will strengthen the effectiveness of integrity policies to create a clean public service culture and become a Suncheon trusted by citizens,” adding, “All public officials must work together to make Suncheon an integrity city.”
